Life with a saxophone
Music can’t be locked into categories; the joy of playing even less so: Whether outdoors surrounded by nature, within church walls, in the pulsating big city... every place, every mood has its own rhythm and resonates with its own harmony of the moment. With my saxophone, I try to immerse myself in that harmony, to make it palpable and audible. Sometimes I become a part of it, other times I fight against it, but I am never passive.
“...I listened with rapt attention and found I would have taken the same approach...”
Klaus Doldinger, composer and saxophonist
(Concerning the film score for “Drawing Against Oblivion”)
