The Lavant Valley and the world
My surroundings have always had a part in shaping me. I left the Lavant Valley of Carinthia – the people, the valley, the small villages, St. Paul’s Abbey with its walls and hallways pulsating with power – to cross the mountains into the wide world. There was a good deal there that left behind traces in my life. Traces which can now be found in my music.
Traces I’m now tracking down as a musician and composer on an acoustic quest for clues.
I transport some of these elements from the valley into the city. But I also bring back others from distant places into the valleys.
It’s an exchange. This trace for that. It’s about listening for what’s inside of yourself and others.
“... I am still captivated by that wonderful performance of an alphorn and a saxophone ...”
